Republic of Ireland international Damien Delaney is set to be given a starting berth as Eire take on Colombia in England`s capital.

The friendly at Craven Cottage, the home of the R`s West London neighbours Fulham sees the recall of Manchester United utility player John O`Shea and Celtic winger Aiden McGeady.

‘I’m really looking forward to it.’ Delaney said speaking to QPR.co.uk

‘I’ve never played at Craven Cottage before, so it will be something very new for me in that respect.’

The game comes as Delaney is the only Championship player in the squad, a statistic which the Rangers defender is particularly happy with:

‘I’m incredibly proud of that statistic’

It’s a privilege and an honour to be representing my country – to be honest, I don’t want the season to end!’

There was some concern that Delaney may lose his place with the return of O`Shea, but it is Stephen Kelly who drops out, leaving the former Hull City defender in his left back role after a solid debut against Serbia.

Republic of Ireland Squad: Kiely, O’Shea, Dunne, McShane, Delaney, Duff, Miller, Whelan, McGeady, Keane, Doyle.
