As the January transfer deadline looms – could Queens Park Rangers be about to offload more players?

Earlier on it was Jay Emmanuel-Thomas but now QPR could be set to trim their wage bill for further departures.

First Rob Green could be on his way to Premier League Crystal Palace. It appears to hinge on the departure of Fulham target Alex McCarthy – who left QPR in the summer.

Green is a handful of appearances away from awarding himself a new one year deal, something Rangers are keen to avoid with Alex Smithies now coming to the fore between the sticks.

Elsewhere Leroy Fer is being linked with a move to Swansea City by West London Sport.

Despite being only a loan deal – the club is sure to demand his wages are paid and potentially a fee up front if other loans are anything to go by.

His performance during the week at Nottingham Forest was highly disappointing – struggling to get out of first gear for most of the game.

No word on Matt Phillips however with West Bromwich Albion seemingly now not coming back for the wide-man.

In other news former QPR youth product Josh Laurent was released from his deal at Brentford and linked up with League Two Hartlepool United.
