NASSER El Khayati has signed for Queens Park Rangers reuniting with former boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

The 26-year-old Dutchman has signed a two and a half year deal at Loftus Road, for a fee believed to be in the region of £350k.

He’s been handed the number 19 shirt in W12 and will more than likely feature wide – although he can also play through the middle.

He joins fellow Dutchmen Leroy Fer and Tjaronn Chery at Loftus Road.

He told QPR.co.uk: ‘I am very happy to sign for QPR and work again with Jimmy.

‘He has been a big help for me on and off the pitch during my time here in England. I have developed as a player with him and I am looking forward to continuing to improve at QPR.’

The Dutchman has scored 11 goals in 42 appearances for the Brewers, helping Hasselbaink’s former charges to promotion from League Two.

His move to Loftus Road is more than a direct hint of the change in transfer strategy under the current regime, and El Khayati is confident he can step up.

He continued: ‘Hard work has got me to this stage in my career but I want to progress even further now.

‘I found my way at Burton and I am confident I will find my way with QPR. I am more than confident that I can do it and with hard work, I believe I will have a positive impact here.

‘I am excited about playing for QPR and can’t wait to show the supporters what I can do.’

El Khayati will now be in contention to face Ipswich Town at the weekend.
