Former QPR Goalkeeper Chris Day is currently seeking another club following his release by Millwall.

Speaking to givemefootball.com the former R`s stopper revealed that it was only a matter of time before he left Millwall, owing to an injury he picked up at Rangers:

“I had an operation to get rid of some scar tissue that had been in my ankle ever since I broke my leg seven years ago and I only managed to get myself fit for the last few weeks of the season.”

Now the keeper who made 87 league starts for the R`s is seeking a new club, and whilst there is a preference to stay in the football league, he still feels he has a lot to offer to the game in both disciplines:

“It would be nice to get back playing week in and week out. I’m only 32 so I still feel I have a lot to offer. My ankle feels fine now and I believe I can go on and play for another three of four years at the very least. After that I’d like to move into coaching in some capacity.”

“I’d like to stay in the Football League but I’m aware of five or six clubs in the Conference that are looking for a keeper. I would like to stay full time but many of the clubs in the Conference are already full time and the top eight or ten clubs in that division actually have better financial infrastructures than many of the teams in League Two.”

Day has made 183 league appearances in total commanding a £225k move from his first club Tottenham Hotspur across London to Crystal Palace. From there he moved onto Watford before Kenny Jackett`s connections brought him to Queens Park Rangers for the start of the 01/02 Division 2 season.

After helping the R`s back to the second tier of English football, he moved on to Oldham, and then Millwall, before being released at the end of last season.

A mainstay at rangers in the early days before a Matthew Rose hospital pass, landed the stopper with a broken leg, Day`s contribution to the cause, most notably wave after wave of saves away to Blackpool, and a world class save to deny Oldham in the dieing stages of the playoff semi-final will not be forgotten.
