Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies confirms his interest in out of favour QPR forward Dexter Blackstock.

A story broken exclusively on Vital QPR back on March 11 is beginning to come together as Billy Davies confirms he has made enquiries about the R`s top scorer.

Speaking to thisisnottingham Davies is keen to add Dexter to the squad as part of the rebuilding job at the City Ground, and it could be in place before the loan window closes on Thursday.

He said: ‘We are looking to bring in one or two before Thursday, but we are also putting one or two things in place for the summer as well,’

‘We are looking at several targets and making several enquiries and Dexter Blackstock is among one of those names we are asking about.

‘He is one of several players we are looking at.

‘We know we have a rebuilding job to do, we know we have to plan for the future.

‘At this moment we are looking at possible targets and doing all we can to look at possible targets now.

‘We do not want to get to the summer and then be scrambling for possible targets. We need to get ahead of the game now.’

Despite being the R`s top goalscorer Dexter has failed to hit the back of the net in his last nine matches prompting his slide down the pecking order in W12.

He was due to join Nottingham Forest in this year`s January transfer window – however the deal was scuppered due to an injury to fellow forward Patrick Agyemang.

The club will be hoping the preliminary deal will see the striker move on loan before the Thursday deadline with the striker not being offered a new contract in W12.
