CARDIFF City boss Dave Jones has caused waves following his post match interview with some rather interesting comments.

An entertaining encounter for all concerned, Rangers came from behind twice to secure a deserved point at the Cardiff City Stadium.

A brace from Adel Taarabt cancelled out efforts from Jay Bothroyd and Craig Bellamy in glorious sunshine in the Welsh capital.

While the occasion itself was enjoyed by the vast majority, there were some rather bizarre comments from Cardiff boss Dave Jones.

Jones has cut a frustrated figure at times this season and it was clear that his cage had been somewhat rattled in what was a thoroughly entertaining clash.

Speaking to the BBC Jones firstly criticised the contribution of the Moroccan that netted QPR’s goals.

‘He did nothing but score two goals, absolutely nothing.

‘He’s a good player and the sign of a good player is when you don’t do anything and pop up with two goals… if anything, out of the 22 players out there I thought he was the poorest on show.

‘It’s a point gained… but I thought we took the game to them, scored good goals, could have had more, should have had a penalty,’

Upon listening to the interview following the fixture, Jones was again bizarrely dismissive of the line of questioning.

One could argue that the pressure is cranking up on Jones given the fact that automatic promotion no longer lies in the hands of the Bluebirds.

Jones lost at the hands of Blackpool last term in the Play Off Final, while also seeing his Wolverhampton Wanderers side come inches close only to falter at the final hurdle.

Of the two manager’s today you didn’t have to look far for the boss that enjoyed the occasion more.

The same result, but a completely different reaction, even finding time to praise the performance of match official Lee Mason.

He told QPR.co.uk:‘Cardiff were good as well – what a great match!

‘It needed a strong referee and we got one. I thought Lee Mason and his linesmen played their part. He was fantastic today.

‘We saw two good sides and the first two goals were unbelievable. You couldn’t get two of them goals in the Champions League.’

It appears the two manager’s were watching two very different Moroccan’s on the day, as Warnock had nothing but praise for Taarabt.

‘Today he was our Captain – our leader.

‘He’s been fantastic for us.

‘When he plays like that it’s really lovely to watch but all the lads played their part today.’

Norwich City are now in pole position along with Queens Park Rangers to achieve automatic promotion while a point today was enough to secure a playoff place for the Bluebirds.
