Former QPR defender John Curtis finally has a stable home in the Blue Square Premier after leaving W12.

Curtis was signed by John Gregory at the beginning of the 2007/08 Championship season following his release from Nottingham Forest. Following falling out of favour with the R`s coupled with the major investment in the team and Curtis was looking for a new club only six months later.

He has trained with Preston North End and impressed in a pre-season trial with Tranmere Rovers, but as of January he made the move to north Wales and Wrexham.

Curtis revealed to the BBC that debuts are merely a formality when you consider the amount he has had during his career.

He said: ‘It’s pretty straight forward when you’ve had as many clubs as I have, as many debuts as I have – you kind of get used to it.

‘There’s a lot of quality, a lot of youth, energy and a lot of eagerness and I’m sure if we can channel it the right way we’re going to get somewhere.

‘It’s hard work, but I’m looking forward to it.”

Wrexham is Curtis` tenth club, most notably figuring for Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Portsmouth and Leicester City.

The 30-year-old defender has made 264 appearances in total, scoring two goals in a career spanning over 11 years.
