Ex Rangers defender John Curtis has joined up with fellow Championship side Preston North End.

Curtis left Loftus Road several weeks ago by what the club described as ‘mutual consent’ and ever since John has struggled to find a new club. Nevertheless the 29-year-old’s fortunes may be about to change as he is now training with the Lilywhites.

Should he impress his potential employers the ex Manchester United youth player is expected to sign a short-term contract with the Lancashire side before too long.

Talking to www.icon.com Curtis said…

“It’s been fairly quiet for me since leaving QPR. I’m just concentrating on keeping fit and sharp so I’m in good shape for wherever I go next.”

“I’ve been training at Preston. It’s just nice to be in and among a great group of players like that. They’re all good lads. I know a few of them from when I was on loan there.’

‘At the moment I’m just looking around. I’m really eager to get a club sooner rather than later. I’ve said many times I love football and I just want to play. I know I have a lot to offer and just need the chance.”
