Exeter City assistant manager John Yems gives his reaction following the Grecians draw at home to Queens Park Rangers in the Carling Cup.

Paul Tisdale`s assistant believed that it was good tie for the League One side and was immensely looking forward to the night and to the occasion.

‘It’s a great draw for us, against one of the big Championship clubs,’ he said.

‘I think it shows the level we`ve come to that we can really look forward to a game like this and it’s at home so it will be a real early-season treat for our fans.

‘I`m sure on the back of our back-to-back promotions, our fans will really be getting behind us on the night – I imagine the whole club is looking forward to it.’

Yems had been manager of Crawley and performed miracles to keep them in the Blue Square Premier during his caretaker tenure. The owners didn`t see the situation the same way despite their points deduction and relieved him of his duties.

He joined up with Tisdale and Exeter in February 2008 and helped guide the Grecians to two successive promotions.

This latest test will take place the week commencing August 10 2009 as Queens Park Rangers make the long trip down to Devon.
