Queens Park Rangers boss Jim Magilton gives his reaction following the draw against Exeter City in the Carling Cup.

The Queens Park Rangers boss will learn tomorrow who he has to face on the opening game of the season, but more pressing matters came to the fore today (Tuesday) as Rangers knew who they would face in the Carling Cup.

A team on the back of successive promotions in Exeter City would host QPR on the week commencing August 10 and Magilton had kind words for his counterpart Paul Tisdale – the architect of the Grecians mesmeric rise.

‘It’s a good game for us,” he told QPR.co.uk

‘I’ve known Paul (Tisdale) for quite a while, since our days at Southampton, when he was a very young midfielder.

‘He’s a good man and a good Manager, who has got his side promoted two years in a row. He’s very highly regarded and we’re expecting a very tough game.’

Magilton will be looking to emulate last year`s achievements in fending off Premier League opposition but first they have the tricky test of St James Park, a ground steeped in character and a tough place for any travelling outfit.
