Crawley Town have signed former QPR defender Dominic Shimmin until the end of the season.

Shimmin, who was a free agent after leaving Rangers in January, trained with the Reds squad on Thursday before passing a medical.

A delighted Town’s boss Steve Evans spoke to the Crawley Observer after the deal had been secured and said…

‘He played against us in pre-season and impressed me then. We tried to get him in October but instead he went to Bournemouth on loan.’

‘When we heard he could be available we pounced and we are really delighted he has come. He has also played well in other games we have watched and we can now look at him until the end of the season and see how he gets on.’
