Rangers second choice stopper Jake Cole has denied rumours that he made a gesture to a section of away fans.

The incident was supposed to have taken place after the R`s disappointing 0-0 draw away at Swansea City.

A minority of support turned on the team following the lacklustre performance, and discouraged the players from clapping the fans, after which Cole was adjudged to have made a gesture.

Cole profusely denied the rumour:

‘I have no idea where this has come from.” Cole told QPR.co.uk

“Making a negative gesture to the R’s fans is the last thing I would ever do.

‘I have been at this Club since I was nine and know what a great set of supporters we have here.

‘I would love to know where on earth this has come from. Hopefully the fans will realise this is something that simply did not happen.’

The gesture was rumoured to have emulated something Joey Barton did a few years ago while playing for Manchester City – I`ll leave it to your imagination!
