Media reports have continually linked QPR forward Heidar Helguson with a move to two Championship clubs.

Watford have been reported in recent times as the side that look set to swoop for the Icelandic international, but Middlesbrough are a club that remain in the frame according to fresh speculation today.

The Daily Mirror are today reporting that Helguson is the subject of a loan enquiry from Boro who are looking to bolster their forward line following the sale of big-guns Tuncay Sanli and Alfonso Alves.

This comes as the Watford Observer reported on Saturday that Watford were close to tying up a deal for the Hornets legend on the same basis – an emergency loan deal.

Before any action takes place Rangers should certainly have a replacement in line to strengthen a profligate forward line, who have scored only four goals in their opening five league fixtures.
