QPR are clearly trying to allay the fears of Rs` fans by showing us that, after all, perhaps Paulo Sousa was not the “angel” he has been portrayed as being.

In an unprecedented move, the Club have just issued a statement on QPR.co.uk on the subject of Blackstock`s loan move to Nottingham Forest.

The gist of the statement, from Blackstock`s agent Eric Walters, is that Paulo Sousa did know of the loan deal and did approve it.

I have précised the statement for you all here:

“Dexter was unhappy at QPR for some time, as he had only started 6 of a possible 21 fixtures.” The statement then refers to Blackstock being left out of the squad for the Bristol City game:

“Seeing as he was the Club`s top goalscorer, Dexter was unhappy about this situation.

“A few Clubs approached me. I spoke to Gianni Paladini and he advised me that we needed to clear this with Paulo Sousa. (In other words, this is trying to absolve Gianni Paladini of any responsibility for the loan deal!!)

We all know that Sousa was in Portugal and, on his return on March 26th, Blackstock discussed the situation with the manager.

“He didn`t say anything to Dexter about the possibility of him staying with QPR.

“At 4.00pm on March 26th 2009, Dexter signed the paperwork to complete his loan transfer to Nottingham Forest.”

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the statement that you could read on our official website.
