Cardiff forward Jay Bothroyd is a doubt for their midweek clash with the R`s on Wednesday night.

The striker limped off in the 2-2 draw against his former club Wolverhampton Wanderers citing pains in his calf, and will undergo a scan today to work out the full extent of the injury.

He was replaced by Chris Burke in a move which pushed Ross McCormack back into the forward line alongside Michael Chorpa, which is how City are set to line-up against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday.

Bothroyd told walesonline.co.uk: “My calf has been a bit sore over the last few days and I had to pull up during the match, It was very disappointing for it to happen.

“But I don`t think I have done any lasting damage, I just think I tweaked it a bit and it was best to come off, or I`m only going to make it worse.

“We have played decent all season and we are still gunning for the automatic spots.

“If we can beat QPR on Wednesday night then everybody will be in good spirits again.”

Cardiff currently sit five points and five places in front of QPR in sixth place with two games in hand as the race for the playoffs begins to hot up.
