Vital QPR takes a look at all today’s news from the Championship.

News today from Cardiff City, Blackpool, Doncaster Rovers, Reading, Bristol City, Coventry City and Newcastle United

McCormack Wants Out

Cardiff City striker Ross McCormack has hit out at Cardiff City believing they have priced him out of a move to a Premier League club.

Interest in the former Motherwell man has been high, with Hull City and Portsmouth interested in capturing his signature, but they have been deterred by a £5m price-tag that the Bluebirds have slapped on him.

He said: ‘I would definitely be interested,’ said McCormack.

‘Hull are in the Premier League. When you’re a young boy all you want to do is play in the Premier League, so if a club wants to give you that chance then it would be hard to turn down.

‘My agent said there had been interest from Hull but neither the chairman nor the manager have said anything.’

Tangerines Smash Record

Ian Holloway has recruited long-term target Charlie Adam after a successful loan period with the club last season.

The funds of Latvian magnate Valeri Belokon have helped engineer the club record deal of £500,000, beating the previous record held by Stephen McPhee`s move from Hull City (£300,000).

Boss Ian Holloway was full of praise for both Belokon and Adam: ‘I would also like to thank Mr Belokon for making this transfer happen, he has put an unbelievable amount of trust and faith in me and I am extremely grateful, I am sure he will be as delighted as all the supporters and I am at signing Charlie.’

Mills Leaving Doncaster

Highly sought-after defender Matthew Mills finally looks like sealing a move away from the Keepmoat Stadium after Doncaster Rovers accepted a bid from Reading.

The two clubs have agreed a fee despite speculation linking him with moves to both Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City over the summer.

Mills now must decide whether a move to the Madejski Stadium interests him, with the deal also subject to a medical for the former Manchester City man.

Sky Blues Bid For McIndoe

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson revealed this weekend that a Championship club had made a bid for winger Michael McIndoe, and today he revealed that Coventry City were that club.

Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman also confirmed his interest and hoped that despite the deal not being done yet, it will be completed by the weekend.

‘I know that it has come out that we have agreed a fee with Bristol City, but we are yet to agree other things, so the deal is far from being done,’ Coleman told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.

‘I am hoping, praying and fingers are crossed because we owe it to the supporters and the boys we have got who have done a great job over the last six weeks.”

Newcastle Defender Wants Out

Sebastien Bassong wants to join Tottenham Hotspur according to Sky Sports, following the Magpies` relegation to the Championship.

One of the few bright spots from last season, the defender has been linked with a £10m switch to White Hart Lane, something which Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is yet to openly refute.
