Queens Park Rangers fans have voted for their preferred central midfield partnership for the clash against Preston North End this weekend.

The R’s will be without Ben Watson and Martin Rowlands who were both given their marching orders against Swansea City for two bookable offences.

Of the many possible central midfield partnerships R’s supporters have picked the attacking duo of Alejandro Faurlín and Ákos Buzsáky to fill the void.

Faurlín arrived at Loftus Road this summer from Instituto de Córdoba in Argentina for a fee rising to a club record £3.5m.

Buzsáky has been a fans’ favourite in W12 since his arrival from Plymouth Argyle in 2007 under Luigi De Canio, but has mainly plied his trade on the left-flank since the arrival of Jim Magilton.

Others in the frame to replace the suspended duo are Gavin Mahon, Adel Taarabt and Mikele Leigertwood – although the latter would have to be withdrawn from his current role in defence.

The voting went as follows:

1. Alejandro Faurlín & Ákos Buzsaky – 34%
2. Mikele Leigertwood & Alenjandro Faurlín – 22%
=. Mikele Leigertwood & Ákos Buzsáky – 22%
4. Alejandro Faurlín & Gavin Mahon – 6%
5. Ákos Buzsáky & Adel Taarabt – 5%
6. Gavin Mahon & Ákos Buzsáky – 3%
7. Mikele Leigertwood & Gavin Mahon – 2%
=. Mikele Leigertwood & Adel Taarabt – 2%
=. Alejandro Faurlín & Adel Taarabt – 2%
=. Gavin Mahon & Adel Taarabt – 2%

Looking ahead to this weekend’s fixture with Preston North End and it promises to be an exciting fixture at Loftus Road judging by recent clashes.

A victory courtesy of Dexter Blackstock goal helped the R’s stay up under the lights in 2007, while there have been set of exhilarating comebacks against the Lilywhites in recent games

The first saw the hosts peg back a two goal disadvantage in the final minute of the game in 2008, with Gareth Ainsworth running riot from the bench – before Dexter Blackstock’s late winner gave Rangers the perfect Christmas gift later that year.

We now ask: How will QPR fare against Preston this weekend?
