Cardiff City Take Another

CARDIFF City are expanding their growing range of former QPR players by signing Tommy Smith today (Friday).

Smith has signed a two year deal at the Cardiff City Stadium and joins Heidar Helguson and Matt Connolly in South Wales as Cardiff raid QPR for Championship talent.

The fee is undisclosed for the former Watford front-man who made over 50 appearances for the R’s. He scored the goal that clinched Rangers promotion to the Premier League while also netting QPR’s first goal back in the Premier League.

His goal against Wigan Athletic last season helped clinch a tight encounter in Mark Hughes’ first home league fixture in charge – a result that helped spur QPR on to eventual safety.
