Rangers` youth product Shabazz Baidoo has left the club by mutual consent.

Shabazz has failed to make his mark on new manager Gigi De Canio and had a disappointing loan spell at Gillingham terminated without playing a game for the Gills.

It was only a year or so ago that the youngster was being touted for clubs such as West Ham and bargaining for an improved contract that in the end was forthcoming.

He made his debut in the Holloway era of the club impressing as a substitute in Rangers` 1-1 home draw with Leeds United. Baidoo also started games away at Burnley and Wigan toward the latter stage of the 04/05 season due to an injury crisis at the club.

His first goal for the club came against Plymouth at Home Park in a 3-1 defeat. His second goal was in the compelling encounter against Crewe at Gresty Road in the same season, scoring the second of Rangers` 4 goals.

With time on his Rangers career beginning to peter out he only came on as a winger in a handful of games bagging a crucial last minute equaliser at home to Leeds United and taking the FA Cup tie against Luton to a replay with some suspicious handiwork.

A player that had a lot of potential that never really came to fruition.
