Bumper Attendance Expected

Queens Park Rangers host high-flyers Reading this weekend in what looks like becoming the highest attendance of the season.

Loftus Road no longer boasts the capacity of 19,148 as quoted on several websites and stadia related books – unfortunately the best the R`s can hope for in recent times isn`t much upward of 17,000.

This was caused primarily by the seats in severely restricted view area of the away end being taken out back in 2002, combined with luxury corporate seating in the platinum area of the ground giving more leg room but ultimately less sears.

With tickets selling like hot-cakes for the highly anticipated clash this Saturday against the Royals, the irony I`m sure will not be lost on Mr Briatore as the ground will be rammed to capacity, but there will be many an empty seat in and around him in the C-Club.

At present the R`s have sold roughly 16,000 tickets with 200 remaining in the away end for Reading supporters. This looks set to beat the current highest total of the campaign which was the bore draw at home to Watford. Here is a run down of home attendances this season:

1 Watford – 16,196
2 Nottingham Forest – 15,122
3 Barnsley – 14,964
4 Derby County – 14,311
5 Preston North End – 14,103
6 Southampton – 13,770
7 Birmingham City – 13,594
8 Doncaster Rovers – 13,536
9 Wolverhampton Wanderers – 13,416
10 Cardiff City – 13,347
11 Coventry City – 13,330
12 Burnley – 13,226
13 Blackpool – 12,500
14 Charlton Athletic – 12,206
15 FA Cup – Burnley – 8,896
16 Carling Cup – Carlisle United – 8,021

The Paddocks and Lower Loft are Sold Out with a selection of restricted view seats in the Ellerslie Road and South Africa Road stands. The Upper Loft has limited availability but is for members only.
