The latest in a long line of managerial rumours as Brazilian legend Zico is tipped for the vacant post at Loftus Road.

The News of the World carry the story this morning (Sunday) that Rangers co-owner Bernie Ecclestone is looking to persuade the 56-year-old into managing the R`s.

The report says that QPR are holding off appointing a new boss until they have spoken to Zico, with Jim Magilton, as they report, still the front-runner.

What may be dismissed as just another rumour is certainly more exciting than most in recent times and Zico would come to Loftus Road with an abundance of managerial experience.

Initially plying his trade over in Japan and then with the national side taking them to the 2006 Fifa World Cup, he then moved over to Turkey where he achieved success with Fenerbahçe.

The Turkish outfit not only won a league and cup double, but Zico also steered them to the Uefa Champions League Quarter Final in 2007-08.

Since then he has had brief spells with FC Bunyodkor in Uzbekistan where he once again won a league and cup double, along with CSKA Moscow where he picked up the Russian Super Cup.

A big name with an excellent managerial pedigree would be an exciting move for QPR, but it remains to be seen whether a deal like this will come to fruition.

What do you think? – Do you want Zico?
