Amit Bhatia admitted that by appointing Jim Magilton they have learned from the mistakes they make last season.
Speaking to QPR.co.uk following the completion of his gruelling triathlon the vice chairman of QPR Holdings outlined the Magilton appointment and what he expects for the coming season.
He said: “We spent quite a lot of time and this time we were very hands on in making sure we picked the person who we thought did exactly the right job and was best suited. We learned from our mistakes of last year.
“I hope that the experience has taught us good things we`re very excited about Jim, he`s very positive and he`s very bullish and I think he`s the man, and I think that we`re going to have a great season this season.”
Bhatia also intimated that injuries scuppered the R`s progress last season and is looking forward to seeing Rangers` first team fit and raring to go for the beginning of the campaign.
He said: “We had a tough end to last season I think, six or seven of our key players were injured and knock on wood it seems that everyone is going to be fit at the start of the season. I think that when we do have all of our first team fit it`s a pretty formidable team.
“So I`m extremely excited about it, hopefully the guys have rested up in the off-season. I`ve been in touch with a lot of them and they seem to have been having a lot of fun and now it`s going to be time for some serious business when they get back.
“It`s going to be an extremely important season for us and I think that everyone concerned understands that, so onwards and upwards good things to come.”
Bhatia is also the chairman of QPR in the Community Trust and took part in his first triathlon to raise £21,200 for the cause alongside brother in law Aditya Mittal.
Amit took part in a 750m open-water swim before a 20km bike ride, culminating in a 5km run and was keen to stress the importance of the cause the how the club is reaching out to the community.
“It was a great race, greatly challenging and a I hope that in the future more people in QPR and our fans can get involved in things like this that are good for your body, good for your mind and for a good cause.
“The trust gets involved in some really key causes, of course there`s the Down Syndrome thing, worked with a lot of kids. Recently we established the charity as a trust which is very important so it`s making strides in the right direction.
“We`re definitely doing the right things, Andy and his team are very passionate and it`s one of the very few things I think is completely selfless in life to help people and it`s something I`m very honoured to be part of and encourage more people to get involved.”
The son in law of Lakshmi Mittal was also keen to stress that the club is a community club with an excellent community spirit.
He continued: “It`s easy to be focused just on football or just the things that happen on the pitch but the community that we`re part of is important to us and spending so much time with the fans is something that everybody feels passionately about.
“It is a community club, it`s a family club and we most definitely want to make a difference in the community that we`re part of.”
