Word On The Tweet

‘Best since Trevor Sinclair’, ‘Magical’ – Plenty of QPR fans react to player discussing distractions

Many QPR fans have reacted on Twitter to comments made by Eberechi Eze in the build-up to tonight’s game versus Derby.

The 21-year-old has been different class this campaign, with his performances representing his immense amount of skill and flair.

Playing in attacking midfield, the former Millwall youth player has gone onto make 34 appearances this season, scoring 11 goals and assisting six.

While speaking to the QPR website, the player revealed that he has a slightly different outlook to how he did last season, admitting to possibly paying too much attention to what people are saying about him.

Now, he claims that he is entirely focussed on football, stating that he will not be allowing anything from outside of the game to distract him.

The youngster told the website: “Last season I probably may have looked at stuff too much and it can get into your head and then you’re not as focused as you should be.

“So I have been working this season on staying focused on my football.

“That’s what has got me into this position this year and so I am going to continue to do that. I am not going to let outside things distract me.

“My family, those people that you speak to most, have been so important. They keep me grounded and keep me focused on the job that I have got to do.”

Should the club accept a £20m bid for Eze if it came in?

Yes

No

Plenty of fans loved hearing what he had to say, and many replied by saying some nice things about the player.

Here are some replies below…

Realistically, Rangers know they have a real uphill battle in keeping the player where he is next season. With the club looking pretty likely to be in the Championship, there will be some teams from the Premier League licking their lips at the possibility of signing him.

Either way, fans should make the most out of the short time they have guaranteed with their star, as they could only have 12 games left.
