BERNIE ECCLESTONE, Co-owner of Queens Park Rangers, today moved to quash sensational rumours that Zinedine Zidane was set to join the club as manager.

F1 Magnate Ecclestone spoke to The Times stating:

‘I can say 100 per cent categorically ‘no’ to stories that we have spoken to Zidane,’

Bernie also revealed that manager Luigi De Canio was never a long-term fixture at Loftus Road, with initial plans made only until the end of the season:

‘We have known for six months that the coach would be leaving and we have to draw up the shortlist, but Zidane’s name is not on it.’

With these latest sensational links seemingly quashed, who will Rangers move for in the coming weeks?

Rumours of free agents Sam Allardyce and Steve McLaren being linked with the role, along with Milton Keynes Dons manager Paul Ince, so the persistent links to Queens Park Rangers will not be reserved for just players. One of the most lucrative roles in football is up for grabs, and that shortlist may be longer than Mr. Ecclestone may think.
