Former QPR forward Shabazz Baidoo has been released by lowly Lewes of the Blue Square Premier.

The Rooks currently sit second bottom of the division, just a point off the foot of the table, a position currently occupied by Northwich Victoria.

Shabazz was previously playing alongside former R`s trialist Michael Standing and former defender Danny Cullip.

It was a financial move by manager Kevin Keehan prompted by the return of forward Chamal Fenelon from a loan spell at Tonbridge Angels.

After leaving the R`s in January this year, Shabazz has found football hard to come by, moving to Dagenham & Redbridge before his release saw him move south to Lewes.

During his time at Rangers he was seen as excellent potential with then manager Ian Holloway encouraged by the supporters to introduce the young talent to the starting eleven. After much cajoling to sign a new deal Shabazz found himself on the periphery before the take-over put pay to his chances of first team football in W12.

Baidoo made 33 appearances for QPR, scoring 4 goals before his release in January 2008.
