“Appealed To Me Immediately” – New QPR Manager Gives First Interview & Makes Some Promises

|

Queens Park Rangers have this evening confirmed the expected appointment of Mark Warburton as our new manager as we prepare for the coming 2019/20 Championship campaign.

With speculation this week strongly suggesting that the former Brentford, Glasgow Rangers and Nottingham Forest gaffer was the new favourite for the Board at Loftus Road, a short time ago the Official Site confirmed that he had now been appointed to the job and has been given a two year contract.

“I am delighted and privileged to be managing this club. When I spoke to QPR they were very clear. They have a solid plan and know what they want. They have a long-term outlook and that appealed to me immediately. I am excited about the challenge that lies ahead.”

With Warburton’s playing style at Brentford standing out for plenty of fans, he also has an eye on youth production which will obviously continue to be important for QPR as we look to set ourselves on an even financial keel after previous seasons and in his interview he makes a point of talking about wanting players to be ‘brave in possession’ and playing a more attacking brand of football.

Confirmation of his backroom staff will be made in due course.
