Anton Ferdinand has heaped praise on Neil Warnock in the wake of Queens Park Rangers win over local rivals Chelsea.

Rangers were victorious over their local rivals courtesy of a Heidar Helguson first half penalty – in no small part down to manager Neil Warnock according to the R’s defender.

‘Playing under a Manager who wants the best for you and at the same time wants to get the best out of you goes a long way in football. It really helps,’ he told QPR.co.uk

‘The gaffer has been brilliant since the day I arrived at the Club.

‘He makes every one of the lads go out on the pitch feeling ten feet tall.

While Chelsea continue to point to referee Chris Foy for their ills on the day, it should be noted that QPR were the side on top prior to Jose Bosingwa’s tug and Didier Drogba’s moment of madness.

Anton himself performed commendably to keep the likes of initially Drogba then Nicolas Anelka at bay and keep a clean sheet against the title hopefuls.

Once again he was quick to praise the attributes of the manager for one of the main reasons why Rangers were able to record their first win over Chelsea in 16 years.

‘He gives us all great confidence and that’s key in the Premier League.

‘If you’re not confident in the Premier League then there’s no point in playing.

‘When you’ve got a Manager who gives you that confidence and does it with such ease, you’re already half way there.’

In other news Anton Ferdinand has spoken to the club in regards to alleged racial abuse by England captain John Terry – the case has now been referred to the FA.
