Antoine Freezmann Hailed After QPR Take A Massive Victory Over Leeds United

|

Tuesday’s evening’s Championship action at Loftus Road saw Queens Park Rangers bring an end to seven straight defeats and take a very unexpected victory over high flying Leeds United.

Victory for Marcelo Bielsa’s side would’ve seen them return to the top of the second tier table, but when Luke Freeman (a late doubt with injury) scored in the 49th minute to give us the advantage, in keeping the clean sheet, we took the all important victory.

Taking to social media the next day following the game, teammate Matt Smith gifted the 26-year-old a nickname following the match, and it certainly went over well with the fans on Twitter.

Quoted by londonfootballnews following the game, manager Steve McClaren was obviously full of praise for the former Bristol City man and he basically challenged him to make a Premier League move in the (we hope distant) future and prove that he could cut it at the top level, given his importance and influence for us.

“He showed his real quality and infectious enthusiasm that he gives to the team. When you’re looking for leadership and looking for people to have courage and take the ball, he’s got all that. He was our talisman tonight. There were a lot of heroic performances but his was incredible. He’s someone who can play at the top of the Championship, could play in that Leeds team and could play in the Premier League, so we’re delighted to have him here.”
