Another QPR Youngster Comes Through The Production Line

Young Queens Park Rangers defender Charlie Fox signed his first professional contract at the club yesterday.

The 19-year-old has been with the club since he was eight years old so it’s been a long old journey for him so far, but having come through the Academy and presumably passed his scholarship requirements, he’s one step closer to a breakthrough as he’s been rewarded with a 12-month deal for his hard work so far.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a homegrown player come through the ranks and then make their mark on the first team and Queens Park Rangers fans are far from alone in holding that belief. It probably takes on a greater sense of pride in the modern day game for fans as players are in general, far more removed than ever before in many ways – certainly in financial terms.

It’s a great way for the supporters to feel more connected and few ever object to news like this. The hard work is just beginning for Fox though in many ways and as long as he remembers that, he might become a familiar name over the next years.
