And It All Begins Again

Queens Park Rangers now know who they must face and when as the season draws ever closer to the starting date of August 9th.

The R`s will have home comfort on the first game of the season, playing a home to Barnsley. All things considered the ideal fixture for the R`s, with the Tykes remaining winless at Loftus Road since 1950, and haven`t scored at Loftus Road since Geoff Thomas and Nicky Eaden netted in a 2-2 draw in W12, in 1999.

Other fixtures of note include Rangers first visits to The Liberty Stadium in Swansea, and the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster both fall on Tuesday nights, October 21st, and March 10th respectively.

With Rangers not playing Doncaster in the league since winning the old third division in 1966-67, its likely to stir the memories of the more seasoned Rangers fan.

Rangers fans can enjoy a trip to the Valley and Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day, with no doubt happy memories from their previous trip across London, with Mick Harford`s side running out 1-0 winners infront of the Sky Camera`s. Evidently there is no New Years Day fixture this season, with the weekend preceding falling close to the turn of the year.

Rangers will round off their campaign, firstly at Loftus Road against Plymouth Argyle, before embarking on a trip to Preston for the final fixture of the season.

10 months of action ahead, with all the thrills, spills and missed heartbeats that are associated with being a QPR fan, but here`s to hoping it culminates with a glorious day in Preston.
