“An influence” “Technician” – These QPR fans have say on conundrum

|

With Marc Pugh’s contract coming to an end in a few months and with an option to extend his stay by a further year, fans have been debating whether he is worth keeping.

Earlier today we posted a story which showed fans arguing for him to leave the club; this piece is focussed around fans wanting him to stay – just proving how much this one is up for debate.

So far this season, the former Bournemouth player has played in 30 matches all season, starting in 11 of them, and contributing to four goals with two assists and two goals.

Should Marc Pugh be handed a contract extension?

Yes, we could do with him

No, better off elsewhere

Fan account @QPRHQ asked its followers whether or not the 32-year-old is deserved of having his contract extension activated, where there was a pretty mixed response.

As said before, there were many who think that he should be axed, mainly due to his age and wages, however, there is also a big group of supporters who think that he has done enough to justify another year.

With Les Ferdinand admitting that the club might have to let go of some of their better young players this season, Pugh might be needed to cover them – especially if Eberechi Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel both leave.

Here are some of the replies below…

The club are in no rush to make a decision and perhaps the final 10 games of the season could dictate their call.

As it stands, Rangers are as midtable as you can get, being nine points from relegation and nine points from the play-offs. They have the potential to get dragged into either race, so they might have a better idea in a few weeks time as to whether they should keep him.
