Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose is in talks with Queens Park Rangers over a potential move to W12

His goal saved Palace on the final day of the campaign, now his transfer could secure their immediate future as Ambrose opens discussions with QPR.

The former Newcastle United and Ipswich Town midfielder has been in sparkling form this season prompting ex-Eagles boss Warnock to attempt a re-union at Loftus Road.

It seemed the discussions depended on whether investment was forthcoming in the immediate future at Selhurst Park – but with a £750,000 bid being accepted it seems Palace are still some way off securing their future.

Administrator Brendan Guilfoyle told the South London Press: ‘We’ve had a written offer from QPR and given Darren permission to speak to them.

‘I’m currently not funded and it is not about one player – it is about saving the club.’

Rangers have also been linked with Julian Speroni, Nathaniel Clyne and Neil Danns in recent weeks, but Ambrose is the most persistent of the rumours and the decision now lies with the midfielder.
