Gareth Ainsworth has called for QPR fans to get cheering and shouting as the R`s prepare to host Ipswich Town this weekend.

Speaking to QPR.co.uk Ainsworth reminisced about his time as a player in W12 and believed the crowd at Loftus Road can make a big difference to proceedings on the field.

He said: “Get shouting, get cheering, lets get this place rocking as I know we can and sometimes we need you.

“The boys sometimes when things aren`t going the best you make the difference so no matter if you think your shout doesn`t count it does. Everyone shout together, we`ll get the result we desire and like I say sometimes you lot can make the difference.

“We aim to win every game. Whenever we have a defeat it doesn`t devastate us we pick up and we go again but we always aim to win and winning is what football is all about.

“We want results we want to get as high as we can in the table. And the only cliché I do believe in is that at the end of the season 46 games you`ll be in the rightful place and hopefully that`s going to be very high for QPR.”

The game against Ipswich marks a promotion for supporters as kids will be allowed to enter for just £1. Ainsworth believes that QPR is one of the best family clubs around with what he describes as a ‘massive fanbase`.

He continued: Fantastic idea again, QPR, it`s a family club Andy Evans said it the other night at the community launch and it`s not a gimmick. People claim to be family clubs, I`ve played at 10 or 11 clubs now and believe me this is a family club. This is a heartfelt west London club with a massive fanbase.

“I remember the promotion season years ago we were cramming them in, walking round the streets people stopping me and QPR fans all over the place and now I go on holiday some times I see QPR shirts abroad. It`s a fantastic fan base QPR, a real family club.”

The R`s take on Ipswich Town this weekend in a 5:20pm kick off, a game which is televised live on Sky Sports.
