Gareth Ainsworth is no longer considered a coach as he prepares to play a part in this weekend`s clash against Aldershot.

Ainsworth who began his coaching career under the guidance of Luigi De Canio, also had experience working under Iain Dowie and Paulo Sousa, while taking charge of the side twice on a caretaker basis.

Since the backroom shuffle announced yesterday Ainsworth is forced to focus on his playing side, with Magilton revealing yesterday – not on the website – that he is to be considered solely a player.

The 36-year-old has been recently linked with a move to former club Port Vale in a coaching capacity under Micky Adams, but with speculation waning in recent days, he looks set to stay in W12.

Ainsworth is QPR`s joint longest serving player, signing for the R`s under Ian Holloway back in 2003 and scoring a brace on his debut against Blackpool on the opening game of the campaign, could lightening strike twice?
