There is a growing list of long-term injured at QPR these days. We had all got used to Vine`s long-term absence, when Akos Buzsaky ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in a freak fall at Manchester United last November. And only last weekend, Club captain Martin Rowlands suffered the exact same injury which has prematurely ended his 08/09 season.

And sandwiched between Buzsaky`s and Rowland`s injuries, only a couple of weeks ago, we learnt that Patrick Agyemang had injured his thigh muscle during training. He immediately had exploratory surgery, and Head Physio, Paul Hunter, told QPR.co.uk at the time: “The news is far better than we expected. It was a far simpler operation than we initially expected and the early signs are very positive in terms of his rehabilitation. He`s already began light rehab work and we will continue to monitor his progress over the coming weeks.”

Unfortunately, however, this “monitoring” seems to have thrown up the proverbial curve ball. Agyemang has had one review with the surgeon, “who is happy with the early progress his is making,” Paul Hunter revealed to QPR.co.uk this afternoon.

But he also had to admit that: “In terms of recovery time, unfortunately we`re talking months rather than weeks.”

Hunter disclosed that they were hoping Agyemang`s recovery time would be about three months, taking him to mid-April at the earliest for his first-team comeback.

“To be fair to him, Pat has been first class so far, but realistically the earliest comeback for him is mid-April,” Hunter concluded.
