Tottenham Hotspur loanee Adel Taarabt has returned to White Hart Lane following a nasty knee injury in training with Queens Park Rangers.

Spurs loanee Taarabt, who evidently did not play in the Plymouth stalemate today, suffered a cartilage tear in his left knee on Friday.

The Moroccan international will go for surgery on Monday effectively drawing a close to his brief period in W12.

Adel made seven appearances for Queens Park Rangers scoring a solitary goal in the victory over Bristol City.

Rumours have surfaced that Tottenham and Rangers are keen to extend his loan deal into next season as the tricky forward looks to get some game time under his belt.

  • Word still is that we are going to try to bring him back to LR for a season-long loan in 09/10 – but, I guess, time will tell on that! Thanks Adel – it was fun whilst it lasted 🙂

  • bad news for all parties. I have to say I am undecided at another loan, mainly because he only has two seasons to go on his contract and a season away will leave Spurs vunarable to him leaving, but countering than I dont see him being anything other than an impact player from the bench with us, so he would benefit as a player from another loan. If Spurs have first option on extending his existing deal or he signed an extenson, I would welcome the move.

  • The problem is that he was clearly playing for himself towards the end. Away at Wolves was the epitome as he ran down dead ends and flatly refused the simple pass, more so than usual. Booked twice for diving was a particular disappointment.
