Adel Puts Boo Boys Behind Him

Adel Taarabt spoke in the build up to tonight’s clash with Reading, indicating that he was happy with the atmosphere on Saturday.

What a difference a few weeks makes in football. Tottenham Hotspur loanee Adel Taarabt nearly signalled his way out of QPR after reacting angrily to groans of disappointment from the crowd.

It seemed that he had lacked vision and selflessness one too many times for some people, and a minority of ‘fans’ decided to boo the loanee after his gesture to the crowd.

Barely weeks later and Adel returned to the starting line-up after a good performance in Gabon for Morocco, and fires a stunning individual effort – heckles of ‘pass it’ could be heard in the direction of the boo-boys following the stunning solo effort.

While evidently happy with his individual effort he was keen to stress team importance after what was a much improved display on the left-hand side from the Moroccan international.

He spoke to QPR.co.uk following the Preston game about the improvement in the crowd at Loftus Road from the last fixture and how Loftus Road is a good place to ply your trade.

“The fans were very good particularly for me because in the last game we little bit confusion but I don’t know why,” he said.

“It’s no problem I want to show them they have to be behind me if they want me to play well, so it was very nice to play here.”

That was the R’s second win on the spin at Loftus Road, which is quickly becoming a fortress for the R’s who are not only undefeated in W12 this season, but the run has been extended to March.

Taarabt believes that home form is crucial if Rangers are to achieve a playoff place, or better still an automatic promotion spot.

“If we want to go up or play in the playoffs we have to win our games at home,” he contined.

“At the start of the season we were winning more away and not at home so now we are starting to win at home.

“It’s a bit like a derby against Reading so I hope we can play like this (against Preston) and perform.”

Tonight will mark Taarabt’s 19th appearance for QPR as Rangers take on Reading at Loftus Road. He will be looking to add to the three goals he has scored for the club over his two loan spells.
