Adel Taarabt has given the clearest indication yet that he plans to leave Loftus Road in the summer.

Only a few days left of the current transfer window and despite a petulant showing at the weekend, it appears Rangers will hang on to Adel Taarabt, for the time being at least.

The People are today reporting that the Moroccan sees himself as a Manchester United player in the summer, after achieving his goal of helping Rangers to the top flight.

Speaking to the newspaper he said that Old Trafford is something he is preparing for at the end of the current campaign.

‘Nothing is official yet,’ said the Moroccan playmaker.

‘I had discussions about my transfer after my performance against Coventry.

‘I’m ready to go to Manchester United.

‘We’ll see later in the season, as I’m hoping to reach the promotion target with my current club QPR.

‘I like England, so I am not against the idea of continuing my career at United.’

Taarabt has caught the eye in recent games, notably in front of the Sky cameras against Coventry City, but his showing against Hull City this weekend saw doubts about his temperament resurface.

The midfielder effectively stopped playing for a variety of reasons and requested to be taken off by Neil Warnock – who managed to cool his talisman’s tantrum.

Quite how much Rangers will benefit from such a deal remains to be seen as Tottenham Hotspur have a sell-on percentage written into his deal.
