8 Shots, 18 Aerials Won & 2 Goals Sees QPR Man Storm To MotM

|

It turned into another disappointing day for Queens Park Rangers fans last Saturday as Birmingham City took all three points from a seven goal thriller at Loftus Road.

A Che Adams hattrick saw us 4-0 down by the 42nd minute, but QPR did rally with a brace from Matt Smith and Jordan Cousins making it a one goal game late on and with such a strong finish, only Nahki Wells’ late penalty miss stopped us from salvaging a point.

Statistics website Whoscored only had four players with a seven-plus rating following the 90 minutes, but they gave 29-year-old Smith a straight 10.00 rating to take their star man award for his individual efforts in almost getting us a point from the game.

Completing the top five were Luke Freeman (7.75), Cousins (7.43), Toni Leistner (7.35) and Wells (6.63).

As manager Steven McClaren said post-game, that was the two faces of QPR on display and we need to find that defensive solidarity again to end this run of results.
