There was more disappointment for Queens Park Rangers fans in the weekend’s trip to the DW Stadium to face Wigan Athletic in our Championship clash.
A 2-1 defeat with Bright Osayi-Samuel’s late effort not enough for a full comeback saw manager Steve McClaren’s side register three defeats on the spin.
With few positives to come from the game other than better efforts as the match came to a close, statistics website Whoscored’s player ratings weren’t very positive, but they did give Man of the Match to centre-half Toni Leistner with a score of 6.99 for his efforts.
Completing the top five best performers on the day in their algorithm were Joel Lynch (6.96), Osayi-Samuel (6.94), Mass Luongo (6.93) and Matt Smith (6.88).
McClaren spoke of feeling ‘hard done by’ following the match, especially with the handball in the box that didn’t result in a penalty decision in our favour but having identified defence as being the problem, it’s now about fixing it.
