Back in late October, early November of last year, Queens Park Rangers confirmed that we had taken Charlie Rowan and Lewis Walker on trial, and ultimately their short stay with us was a success and they impressed enough to be handed professional deals until the end of the 2018/19 season.
This week the Official Site confirmed that now, 21-year-old Rowan had been handed a contract extension that sees him committed to the club until the summer of 2020.
The ball playing centre-half must have clearly impressed to earn the second deal and the club have described him as having a vocal presence on the pitch for our Under 23s as well which bodes well for his maturity.
The youngster himself admitted that last year was a disappointment for him as he picked up injuries, so for him he wanted to treat this coming year as a ‘fresh slate’ to really impress.
“The club are showing faith in me and they believe in me. They’ve given me a plan, told me where they want me next season and I’m really happy with that and can’t wait to start.”
